James Truax, our newest IOP Director, brings a wealth of experience to our team. He graduated from the Navy Drug and Alcohol Counselor School in 1991 and has since accumulated over three decades of experience in addiction counseling and program management. His previous roles include Director of Addiction Services at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, where he developed best-practice detox programs and oversaw multiple intensive outpatient programs. He also played a key role in the start-up and growth of the 21st JDC Drug Court and led the Substance Abuse Counselor Center at the Marine Corps Base in Oahu. James is an active member of professional affiliations such as the Louisiana Association of Substance Abuse Counselors and Trainers, demonstrating his commitment to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for staff and clients.
