Treatment Center
For more than 30 years, Palmetto has helped adults and families find a way forward when substance use, relapse, mental health concerns, or professional consequences have become too difficult to manage alone.
On our private residential campus in Rayville, Louisiana, clients receive medical, clinical, peer, family, and continuing care support designed to help them understand what is working, what is not, and what needs to change as they begin the work of recovery.
Medical Detox
Palmetto offers medically monitored detox services in an ASAM 3.7 level of care, with 24-hour nursing support to help clients begin treatment safely and with dignity. Built on decades of experience caring for individuals and families affected by addiction, our detox program supports clients through withdrawal with attention to comfort, safety, and each person’s individual needs.
Medical detox at Palmetto includes:
- ASAM 3.7 medically monitored detox services
- 24-hour nursing support during detox treatment
- Individualized care for a wide range of withdrawal needs
- A safe, structured, and supportive setting for beginning recovery
- Detox length varies by individual need and typically lasts 3–10 days
Evaluations
Palmetto offers evaluation services for individuals, families, employers, and referring professionals who need a clearer understanding of a person’s relationship with alcohol, drugs, or other concerning behaviors. Evaluations can help determine whether treatment is clinically appropriate and what level of care may be recommended.
Depending on the situation, Palmetto may recommend a 1-day or 3-day evaluation. Our team gathers relevant medical, psychiatric, psychological, clinical, and collateral information to better understand the whole person — not just the presenting concern.
Evaluation services may include:
- Medical history and physical examination
- Addiction medicine evaluation
- Psychiatric evaluation
- Therapist evaluation
- Psychological testing, when clinically indicated
- Collateral contact with approved family members, professionals, or other sources
- Peer feedback through our licensed Professionals Group, when appropriate
Residential Treatment Program
For more than 30 years, Palmetto has provided residential addiction treatment in a structured campus setting. As a family-owned program, Palmetto was built by people who believed treatment could be more personal, more accountable, and more connected than what many individuals and families were finding elsewhere.
Today, our residential program continues that commitment by providing a supportive environment where clients can step away from the distractions and pressures of daily life and focus fully on recovery.
Our program is grounded in a therapeutic community model that emphasizes responsibility, routine, peer support, accountability, and personal growth. Clients are supported by a multidisciplinary team that may include medical providers, psychiatric support, licensed clinicians, nursing staff, and psychological services, allowing care to address both addiction and related emotional, behavioral, and health needs.
Residential treatment at Palmetto includes:
- A structured daily schedule focused on recovery
- Individual and group counseling
- Peer support within a therapeutic community
- Medical, psychiatric, clinical, and nursing support

Clients may receive care from a multidisciplinary team that includes licensed clinicians, medical and psychiatric providers, nursing staff, psychological services, and other experienced professionals. Program goals include:

Continuing Care
Recovery does not end when residential treatment is complete. Palmetto helps clients prepare for life after treatment with continuing care planning that supports accountability, connection, and long-term recovery.
Before discharge, our team works with each client to develop recommendations based on their needs, progress, family situation, professional obligations, location, and recovery goals. When appropriate, we help clients connect with trusted outpatient providers, intensive outpatient programs, therapists, recovery supports, and other resources in Louisiana and across the country.
Continuing care planning may include:
- Individualized discharge planning
- Referrals to outpatient care, intensive outpatient programming, or therapy when appropriate
- Recovery meeting and community support recommendations
- Coordination with family members, professionals, or monitoring programs, with proper authorization
