Aaron Foster, CAC

Counselor

Aaron Foster is a Certified Addiction Counselor at Palmetto Addiction Recovery Center, where he has worked since 2022. He works directly with individuals in residential addiction treatment, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). His work includes counseling, psychoeducation, treatment planning, and ongoing recovery support. Aaron is currently completing his Master of Social Work at Louisiana State University and is entering the final year of the program.

His path into addiction treatment was shaped by his personal experience with recovery. After experiencing the effects of addiction firsthand, he chose to remain in the field so that others could receive the same opportunity for recovery and support that he was given. He believes meaningful treatment begins with genuine relationships, accountability, compassion, and meeting people where they are in the recovery process.

Looking ahead, Aaron plans to continue growing as a clinician and eventually pursue advanced clinical and leadership roles in addiction treatment. He is particularly passionate about helping clients develop the skills, confidence, and support systems needed to build meaningful lives in recovery. Aaron believes clients should leave treatment with more than sobriety. They should also have the tools to sustain it and a clearer understanding of the personal goals that sobriety will help them achieve.
